Dublin Airport: daily flights from most UK and international airports. Hourly bus transport from Dublin airport with Citylink ( and Go Bus ( These bus services are the quickest and most economical transport from Dublin Airport to Galway city centre. Alternatively, you can take a bus or taxi into Dublin city for train service to Galway out of Heuston Station ( Dublin airport is 2.5 hours by car (3 hours by bus) from Galway city centre.

Shannon Airport: regular flights from London (Gatwick, Stansted & Heathrow), Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Edinburgh, as well as assorted international flights. Galway is a 90 minute drive from Shannon, with hourly bus service from Bus Éireann (

Knock Airport: regular flights from London (Gatwick, Luton and Stanstead), Bristol, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Manchester. Galway city is a 90 minute drive from Knock, with bus service from Bus Éireann (

Campus: Corrib Village – these are student apartments on campus that are rented out as B&B accommodation during the summer months. It is the most economical, but also quite basic. It offers the opportunity to rent an apartment to share with colleagues, or to rent individual rooms with single or double beds. Located on the far side of campus, it will add another five minutes to you walk into town. See

*** We have arranged discounted rates with two hotels in Galway for the conference, so keep them in mind as you search for accommodation. One hotel is in the city centre – The Harbour Hotel (July 4=€139, July 5=169); the other is located a few  blocks north of campus (further from the city centre) – The Westwood Hotel (July 4= €89, July 5=€129).
